Toca de Asis
See Christ in the poor person and serve him with love, dignity and respect.

What exactly do they do in Quito?
Its main mission is to approach people who live in extreme poverty, abandonment or on the street, seeking to give them something fundamental: "their dignity as people". The mission has been present in Ecuador since December 2006.
In their home in Quito they offer, among other things:
Food
Clothes
Bath and hygiene products
Haircut
Personal care
Refuge and reception in certain circumstances
In 2024 it was reported that approximately 120 people in a situation of extreme vulnerability were attended through a humanitarian canteen.
His job is not limited to waiting for people to arrive at the house. The members of the fraternity carry out pastoral and aid actions directly in the streets, bringing food, clothing, blankets and accompaniment.
The spiritual part is fundamental, here is one of the great differences with respect to a conventional social organisation.
The Toca de Assisis has as its centre the "worship of the Blessed Sacrament" and seeks to bring the message of Christ to people. His spirituality is inspired by "Saint Francis of Assisi", especially in the love of the poor.
From what the sources about their mission show, they seek to establish a human relationship with the people they attend: listen to them, accompany them, talk to them and treat them as brothers, not simply as beneficiaries of help. His mission explicitly speaks of "revealing to the world the hidden presence of Jesus in the poor."
