La Palmira, Loja - Ecuador
Heavy rains caused the overflow of the La Bocana ravine.
On April 28, 2023, a strong emergency hit the community of La Palmira, in Loja, Ecuador. The intense rains caused the overflow of a ravine, generating a large current of water, mudge and earth that devastated homes and left several families affected. Five houses were destroyed, in addition to significant material damage and access roads.
Faced with this situation, our Community of Divine Mercy of London, moved by solidarity and love of neighbour, decided to financially support the affected families, contributing to the reconstruction of their homes and the recovery of their homes.
This gesture of fraternity reminds us that, even being far away, we can remain united and bring hope to those who need it most. Together, with faith and solidarity, we help rebuild homes and lives.
